How do I become a member?
If you are living or working within 10 miles of B&S Credit Union, you can become a member by coming into our office with supporting documentation; photographic ID, proof of address (dated within the last 3 months), proof of PPS Number and proof of employment in the area if applicable.
How do I apply for a loan?
To apply for a loan you need to make an appointment with our Loans Officer by calling into the office or phoning us on 074 91 31702 to arrange a time that suits you. We require up-to-date bank statements and proof of income to support your application.
How do I update my nomination?
To update your nomination call into our office and speak with a member of staff who will update your nomination as required and ask you to sign our nominations form to confirm your new arrangement.
What is a dividend?
A dividend is a return of profits made by us to our members. The percentage dividend received each year depends on how well we have performed that year and the dividends are paid into our members account after our AGM in December each year.
Why is my account dormant?
Accounts go dormant if a transaction has not been completed on the account within the last 3 years. The money in the account is safe, we just require up-to-date documentation I.e. photographic ID, proof of address (dated within the last 3 months) and proof of your PPS Number. We also require you to complete a transaction on the account when you re-activate it.
Can I transfer money to a bank account from my credit union account?
Yes, we have an Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) service where you can send money to a bank account. All we need is the IBAN and BIC Number of the bank account your sending it to. call into our office for more information.
How do I set up a Standing Order from my bank account to my credit union account?
Each members account has their own unique IBAN and BIC Number which can be used by banks to send money through to your credit union account. Call into our office and speak to one of our staff who will complete a standing order mandate for you to take to your bank. You can also chose the amount, frequency and distribution of your standing order to suit you.
What other services do you offer?
At our office in Ballybofey we have a foreign exchange service and a Paypoint service, which you can use to pay Eircom, ESB, Bord Gais, Prepay Power bills etc. and buy phone credit.
